Can violent video games affect the youth?
I think violent video games can effect the youth. For instance, if a kid was to play a game such as Texas chainsaw massacre (the first violent video game), they may think it is something you should do in daily life. There are tons of violent games today such as,
Doom 3Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Gunslinger Girls 2
Half Life 2Halo 2Hitman: Blood Money (releases in 2005)
Manhunt
Mortal Combat: Deception
Postal 2
Shadow Heart

Even though companies who make the games could be sued, they still make the games that will encourage kids to make bad choices in life. Kids are starting to only play video games all the time. They also are starting to only play violent video games. Adding to that, they learn about WW1 and WW2 in school. That makes them thing that violence is a good thing. Rating games is a good thing but it will help a little in this situation. I don’t think games with a lot of violence should be sold in stores. The first violent game (Texas chainsaw massacre) Parents boycotted stores that sold it and did not go back to them until they stopped selling it. Here’s an example of someone who wants to ban violent games.
The problem is that nobody’s banning violent video games. Indeed, the body of the article doesn’t even make such a claim. But that hasn’t stopped videogame blogs from parroting the accusation. Even to say that they are “banning” the sale of violent videogames to minors, although true, seems like an awfully inflammatory way to frame the legislation. The fact is that this is a very moderate proposal. It just says that kids shouldn’t be allowed to buy games that the game industry has already said they shouldn’t be playing! Its a reasonable compromise that brings violent videogames in line with other media and substances that we think are dangerous to children. Thanks to
http://blogs.gameblogs.org/grownupgamer/?p=33 I think there should be less violence in video games. I think games with a lot of violence should NOT be sold in stores
